Warner Bros, Who Recently Made Several R-Rated DC Animated Films, Would Make More, Says Producer

Teen Titans: The Nudist Contract
Teen Titans: The Nudist Contract

Two of Warner Bros recent DC Animated films, Batman: The Killing Joke and Justice League Dark, carried R-ratings when they hit home video release, but the most recent film, Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, scored a measly PG-13. Since we know that once a studio makes one R-rated film they must always make every future film R-rated as well, the only logical conclusion anyone could possibly draw from that is that WB has abandoned the R-rating and will never make an R-rated film again.

Shockingly, however, Ariel Winter boob photo website ComicBook.com asked Warner Bros producer James Tucker about it, and he replied that, actually, Warner Bros could make both PG-13 and R-rated animated flicks without committing to one or the other for all of eternity. We know it sounds crazy, but we're just repeating what he said:

It's hard to say. I will say this, that they have said that if the content merits the R they'll look into it, they're open to it, which was not something that was a part of the landscape until recently. I like having that option because there's certain things that you just can't do without being a little edgy, without being a little more violent.

And thank goodness Warner Bros is open to doing more, because if we never got another scene like this one, it would be a real shame:

A prophecy once said that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero would come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events.
