Heroic Four Matchups – Saturday, April 8 – 1 p.m. PT

  • Louisiana State University vs. University of Kentucky
  • University of Texas at Arlington vs. University of California Irvine

Since February, UTA HOTD (University of Texas Arlington), Scratch 'em (University of Kentucky), Carrying Mistax (University of California, Irvine) and HecarimJ (Louisiana State University) have emerged from more than 200 rival universities to earn their spots in the Heroic Four.

Below are more details about each team, and attached is a media guide with a breakdown of the team rosters, stats and more.

Team Details

  • UTA: Fielding a roster of expert players competing in the Heroes Global Championship Open Division, UTA are the heavy favorite to take it all. However, they were upset by Arizona State University in the finals of the 2016 Heroes of the Dorm tournament, and UTA is anxious to ensure history doesn't repeat itself in their return to the Heroic Four.
  • LSU: LSU has a feud with UTA, and want to ensure the world knows it. They have a 0-4 record against UTA so far this tournament, but all they need to do is beat them once in Vegas to balance out their bitter rivalry.
  • UCI: UCI is among the first universities in North America to build a scholarship program around esports. However, despite the school's history of being a powerhouse in collegiate esports, their team has never made it to the Heroic Four until now. They've earned a spot on the big stage, and expectations are high to bring home a championship.
  • Kentucky: No one expected the #13 seed Kentucky to make it to the Heroic Four—and yet, here they are. Among the more than 50,000 fans that submitted predictions online, only 1.69 percent chose Kentucky to win it all. No one is giving them much of a chance…it's time for Kentucky to prove a whole lot of people wrong.
