Jimmy Palmiotti And Amanda Conner Taking Harley Quinn Where You Least Expect

The Mayor has hired cannibals to get rid of the city's homeless people… and hilarity ensues. At least that's what's lined up for Harley Quinn #17 in stores today. In an interview below, co-writers Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner talk about the new issue of the series and how Harley goes undercover as a homeless person to figure out what is going on. The storyline is coming to a head according to the couple and will continue into issues 18 and 19. Art for the issue is done by John Timms.

Jimmy also talks about the back up stories he's doing with Harley co-creator Paul Dini that is set in a time when the Joker and Harley were still together. The six page stories focus on the time when the two were doing their crime sprees in Gotham and they all connect together in one overall story arc. These stories feature art by Brett Blevins, J Bone and Alex Sinclair.

As for the future of Harley, with both an anniversary and a 25th issue on the horizon, the writers promise to take the character to places you'd never expect. And we're going to get to meet Harley's parents, who are alive and well and living in Florida.

Amanda adds: "Sometimes Harley goes where she wants to go and not where we want her to go." You have to love characters like that.
