Continuing Will-He-Won't-He Public Negotiation Of Captain America Contract, Chris Evans Says "Nothing Lasts Forever"

Showcasing an elaborate corporate mating ritual that could result in a new contract for Chris Evans to continue playing Captain America in the Marvel cinematic universe, Evans presented himself in an interview with USA Today about the subject this morning.

"I'd be lying if I said it wouldn't be hard for me," Evans said of leaving the role, though he makes clear that it's really all up to Marvel as to whether they want to give him lots of money to stay on. "But the passing of time and the passing of torches is part of the experience. Nothing lasts forever. There's a beauty in that departure, even if it can be sad at times. It's also joyful."

Displaying his colorful and attractive tail feathers, Evans said that superheroes are replaceable, citing Batman and James Bond as examples, saying that, while he'll be happy to return, "However they want to proceed after Avengers 4, it's really up to them. I walk away with no regrets and endlessly thankful."

When he is done playing Cap, that is, if he is done, Evans intends to follow the same retirement plan as Hugh Jackman after playing Wolverine. "I'm just going to get fat. Potato chips, ice cream before bed. It's like, 'Guess what, everyone!'"

In an exciting moment during the interview, Evans butted antlers with fellow MCU star Robert Downey Jr. in an attempt to establish dominance, saying, "Downey is far closer to reaching that point where he may walk away. And I don't know how you replace Downey as Tony Stark. I don't know who else can touch that."

We'll have to wait and see whether Marvel has become aroused enough by Evans' various public statements to offer him a new contract.
