The Woods By James Tynion IV And Michael Dialynas Wins 2017 GLAAD Media Award For Outstanding Comic

Last night, Los Angeles saw the 2017 GLAAD Media Awards, honour entertainment and journalism that "fairly and accurately represent the LGBT community and issues relevant to the community."

In the category of Outstanding Comic Book, the winner was The Woods by James Tynion IV and Michael Dialynas, published by Boom! Studios, beating out fellow nominees All-New X-Men, Black Panther, DC Comics Bombshells, Kim & Kim, Love is Love, Lumberjanes, Midnighter / Midnighter and Apollo, Patsy Walker, A.K.A Hellcat! and Saga.

Stephen F. Kolzak Award: Troye Sivan

Outstanding Comedy Series: Transparent (Amazon)

Outstanding Drama Series: Shadowhunters (Freeform)

Outstanding TV Movie or Limited Series: Eyewitness (USA Network)

Outstanding Individual Episode: "San Junipero" Black Mirror (Netflix)

Outstanding Daily Drama: The Bold and The Beautiful (CBS)

Outstanding Comic Book: The Woods, written by James Tynion IV (BOOM! Studios)

GLAAD previously announced that it was acknowledging two web series, Her Story (HerStoryShow.com) and We've Been Around (WeveBeenAround.com), and music video "Sin Ir Más Lejos" by Gema Corredera, with Special Recognition Awards.
