Legends Of Tomorrow Writers Are Going To Do What They Said They Never Would

Things are looking bad for the Legends of Tomorrow team. The Legion of Doom has won, gotten the spear and re-wrote history creating a new reality. That's more than a minor anomaly. This is a going to change everything moment and they'll have to do something big to undo it… but as we've learned, doing big things is hard. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim told EW.com:

We're going to do the one thing on the show we said we would never do. Without spoiling too much, clearly they're going to have to do something very significant and break a major rule in order to fix things.

So what does that mean? Is this a rule the writers had or is it a rule in the show. Rip pointed out last week that there are some events too dangerous to mess with, like the Crucifixion. But if the team went back and took the spear from there, then it would undo what the Legion did. Assuming the have access to a time machine in Doomworld.

What other rules could Marc be talking about? Wait 30 minutes to swim after eating? No white pants after Labor day? Get Barry Allen or Clark Kent to go back in time to fix things? Never get involved in a land war in Asia? Don't mess around with Jim? Never tell Han Solo the odds? Never cross the streams? Don't make Bruce Banner angry? Never put John Cryer in a TV pilot? Never gonna give you up. Never gonna let you down. Never gonna run around and desert you. Never gonna make you cry. Never gonna say goodbye. Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow airs Tuesdays at 9 PM and has two episodes left this season.
