Tomorrow will see one hundred people dressed as Wonder Woman marching down Oxford Street as one of the many floats making up the 2017 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

Known as "Glamazonians", the chosen costume combines the upcoming movie costume – and a cheerleader. Crimson red cotton t-shirts, spandex battle skorts (half skirt-half shorts), and mini-golden lassos.

Australia Plus reports organiser Ethan's "feature piece" costume based on someone's work who is a little closer to home, Ethan saying "This one has been inspired by the artists that have recently worked on the Wonder Woman comic, one of which is Nicola Scott, a Sydney-based artist who has done a lot of work for DC Comics."

The 2017 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival Parade starts from 7pm on Saturday March 4 along Oxford and Flinders Streets. Photos by Lisa Clarke for ABC.
