A Comic Convention Like They Used To Be – The SD Comic Fest, Last Weekend

SDBATMAN66 writes,

We had a blast at the SD COMIC FEST 2017.

However, today's pics aren't that great. Tomorrow is sure to bring more and fabulous photographic treasures.

This is our second year and we will now officially make it one of our yearly stops.

So you say you like the old school Comic Con without all the Hollywood hype, this is it, Citizens. Tons of comics, mostly older. Lots of vintage titles, both slabbed and some bagged. The vintage toy bins took a beating when my boys walked down the row.

POP figures? You bet. Most likely the one you are missing.

It is a joy to dig thru some white boxes and see what priceless collection filler that everyone else has missed, without getting shoved or yelled at.

A little busier than last year and we saw some familiar faces from 2016.

Another great thong about this con is the game room. Hundreds of family friendly games available to play all day long, and volunteers to help you play whatever new game you have just picked out. My boys stayed here quite a while, I was able to sneak out to artist alley and purchase some spectacular pieces from some local talent.

Here are all the pics we took today, the best ones are in front of the cosplay backdrop I think. I will send more tomorrow and have some more tales to tell.

Same SDBATMAN66 time, same SDBATMAN66 channel.

Until then chums.
