Samuel L. Jackson Talks Nick Fury Solo Film, Captain Marvel Appearance, Black Superhero Networking Problems

Superstar actor Samuel L. Jackson is set to star in Avengers: Infinity War and whatever the hell they're going to call the sequel to that, but what about some of Marvel's other upcoming films, like Captain Marvel and Black Panther? Because we have to know every minor detail about everything early, dammit, Jackson was asked by We Got This Covered about his future plans in the MCU.

"Yeah, I'd love to do a Nick Fury movie," Jackson said, surprising everyone who doesn't know actors like to make money. "I'm always open and game."

"But they got Infinity Wars, two movies to do there, and after that there's Brie [Larson's] movie Captain Marvel, which maybe [Nick] will be part of," Jackson continued, revealing that maybe he will appear in Captain Marvel and sparking a hundred clickbait headlines across the entertainment blogosphere. But when it comes to Black Panther, Jackson was shocked by a total lack of Black superhero networking in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"Also, I asked them, 'So you're doing Black Panther and the only black character in the Marvel Universe is not showing up?'" Jackson said. "And they're like, 'Nick Fury is not in Wakanda!' How can he not know the other black superhero on the planet? How the hell does that work? But they just said, 'No you're not in that one.'"

"Only other Black superhero?"

It seems odd, considering both movies are filming in Atlanta, and Jackson could easily make an appearance. Maybe we'll have hope for a post-credits scene. Let's speculate endlessly about that for the next year.

Black Panther is set to come out in February, 2018. Avengers: Infinity War is in theaters in May of 2018. Captain Marvel is planned for 2019.
