Logan Isn't Trying To Be About Donald Trump, But It's Still About Donald Trump, Say Jackman And Stewart

logantrump

These days, it seems like everything is about President Donald Trump. Possibly this is legally mandated as a result of Trump's latest executive order, "Everything must be about Donald Trump." Still, you would think that Logan, being written and filmed before Trump became president, would manage to not be about him. You would be wrong, however.

Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart were at a screening of the film yesterday, and Jackman said the film's writers managed to capture the current political zeitgeist.

"Before the whole debate about the wall, the border scenes were there in the film," Jackman explained, according to Variety.

"We are affected by the changing times," Stewart added. "You present your part as a person influenced by the times. We did not set out to make a political movie, yet there are echoes in the film that exist today – that is serendipity. If people want to take messages from this film, then we have done a good job."

Stewart also had some shade to throw at Brexit, calling the decision for Britain to leave the European Union a "calamitous mistake" and saying he's "ashamed of being from a country that has decided to leave Europe." He did apologize to any Brits that wanted to stay.

So it looks like Logan, which hits theaters on March 3, is totally in compliance with Trump's executive order. If you want to see a little bit more about what the film is like, check out Bleeding Cool's review by Kaitlyn Booth. The review, we admit, is not about Donald Trump, so please don't report us to Leader.
