Tonight was a reminder of what the earlier part of the season had been about: Lena Luthor, Cadmus and Metallo.  But it was also to tie up a few plot points that have been lingering out there. Lets jump into the basic plot of the episode and then I'll share my thoughts.

Lillian Luthor is on trial and Lena is one of the major witnesses against her. After her testimony, Lillian wants to speak to Lena and lets her know that she is not adopted, but the actual daughter of Lionel and his mistress. They took Lena in when her mother died. While Lena is there, a guard tosses a package into the cell of John Corben / Metallo. It contains synthetic kryptonite which he uses in court when he is brought in to testify for Lillian. He breaks her free and they escape. They then send out evidence showing that Lena is the one that sent the kryptonite to Corbin, leading to her being arrested. Lillian has Corbin bust Lena out of prison and they take her to one of Lex's secret lairs and we find out only Lena can open the vault, which is the real reason Lillian needed her. Supergirl is the only one who believes Lena is innocent and she keeps pushing Winn Schott to review the tape until he discovers that it was modified by Hank Henshaw / Cyborg Superman. He is also able to trace the synthetic kryptonite, but it's about to explode. Supergirl races in, battles with Metallo while Lillian and Henshaw escapes. With the help of J'onn J'onzz, Supergirl is able to save Lena… but Metallo goes boom.

Now the fun things that happened during the episode. Guardian vs Metallo was kind of a fun fight, but way too short. Nice to see Olsen get a chance to go up against someone that could hurt Supergirl. Also, they finally get to move past the tension since Kara discovered about James' alter ego. She still doesn't like it, but they can agree to disagree.

Alex and Maggie announced they're dating to their friends and co-workers… and the response was a little bit of surprise, otherwise everyone was happy for them. I liked J'onn's reaction the best, which was he already knew being psychic… but it was their business and said nothing until Alex did. The Martian Manhunter is always at his best when he is acting the most human (in a good way).

The awkwardness between Mon-El and Kara gets addressed as well when Kara discovers that Mon-El spent the majority of his date with miss Tessmacher talking about Kara. She finally admitted that she had feelings for him at the end of the episode, but before they could kiss… next week's bad guy made a terrific entrance. Seems when Kara wants to kiss somebody in her apartment, bad things suddenly happen… same thing when she kissed James.

The negative for the episode for me what Kara being the worst reporter ever. She let her personal feelings override her knowledge that news is still news. All indications were that Lena Luthor was guilty. It was still the right story to run regardless if she felt that Lena was innocent. Then the next day she arrogantly goes to do an 'I told you so' to Snapper Carr, who was still right in running the story. Now that day they could run that Lena had been exonerated. Kara did nothing as a reporter. The only evidence found was by Winn. If they're going to keep the Kara as a reporter angle, I'd like to see her do some real journalism at some point.

The other negative thing, it seems like they spent this episode to show us that Lena was not like her family, and then end it with her beating Lex at chess at a very young age… giving us the impression that she might be playing everyone.

Oh… And the showed Lex's Battle Suit!!! The green and purple one!

And now, for next week… Enter Mr. Mxyzptlk who is in love with Kara Zor-El. And on that note, if Kara and Mon-El got married… would she be Kara Zor-El-El?
