Free Plastic Surgery For All In Coronary

g1

Ryan Burke writes,

Three years ago I had an idea that has never let me go. At this point, the FDA are testing it for its addictive qualities. I looked around the world around me, and had one of those epiphanies that stays with you, like a ghost sighting or a persistent head louse.

There was so much unhappiness based upon body image. I scratched at my eight-pack, deep in thought on this topic. The city around me was awash with images. Or as I prefer to call them, sly insults that corrupt your sense of self worth. Or SITCYSOSW for short. There is a wonderful scene in Fight Club where the main characters look at an advertisement of a figure looking imposingly down his abs towards you.

"Is that what a man looks like?"

The other character laughs back at the question. But it's true. The assertion that we are supposed to look like models is exactly that: laughable. What's worse is that we've all been tricked to feel inadequate about our bodies, our faces and our self-worth. While I admit, my face looks like a waxwork of an old mariner that was kicked down a long staircase, but not you. We've all been made to think these things.

I say no.

Coronary will be the thorn in the side of this slime-based movement, itself covered with tinier, more aggressive thorns. In this comic, everyone is given the body image that is out of reach. It will show us that we are not the imposters here. It is they that have marred our minds with their comparison.

Coronary follows the story of a lonesome businessman that has been burned out on that dream of image, and is beginning to wonder what it all means. A woman confronts him, who so eager and so able to tear the entire theatre down. And all towers will tumble.

The first episode of this twelve-issue series is live on Kickstarter now. As a promotion for this weekend only, you will receive a free mini-print with your physical issue. Just mention you're from Bleeding Cool (and are bleeding cool…ha ha…) and it'll be yours.
