Overwatch Devs Object To Use Of Mouse And Keyboard On Console – Unless Its Available To All Of Us

Blizzard's VP Jeff Kaplan took to the battle.net forums to make a statement on behalf of the Overwatch team reading: "The Overwatch team objects to the use of mouse and keyboard on console… We have lobbied and will continue to lobby for first-party console manufacturers to either: Disallow mouse and keyboard and input conversion devices OR Openly and easily support mouse and keyboard for ALL players."

Mouse and keyboard is a favorite among FPS players due to the speed advantage, but on console, using a mouse and keyboard requires the use of a conversion device, and ultimately leads to an advantage for players who are tampering with the console.

As Overwatch has over 25 million players, the sheer numbers game is in favor of the Dev's objections. Even still, Kaplan urged players to lobby Sony and Microsoft themselves to take a stand "in a productive and respectful way."
