Nice Guy Brian Bendis Sends Comic Book Care Package To Young Spider-Man Fan Hit By Car

Superstar Marvel writer Brian Bendis warmed even the cold, dead hearts of Bleeding Cool yesterday by sending a box of Spider-Man comics to a 7-year -old boy who was hit by a car, according to an ABC News report. The boy, Styles Johnson, is seen on video opening a box of comics to find a note by Bendis and several comic books, about which he is delighted.

The first comic in the box appears to be an issue of Spider-Men, a 2012 series by Bendis and artist Sara Pichelli in which Peter Parker, the Spider-Man from Marvel's mainstream comics universe, meets Miles Morales, the Spider-Man from Marvel's Ultimate Universe, who was created by Bendis.

Johnson's story made the news and went viral earlier this month when his sister posted on Twitter that Johnson said he survived because "he's lucky he's Spider-Man."

Bendis immediately reached out and offered to send the care package.

The rest, as can be seen on the video, is history.

A prophecy once said that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero would come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events. Sadly, that prophecy was wrong. Oh, Jude Terror was right. For ten years. About everything. But nobody listened. And so, Jude Terror has moved on to a more important mission: turning Bleeding Cool into a pro wrestling dirt sheet!
