Marvel Square Avengers Reassemble

An important trick in the bag of entertainment journalism, headlines that end with a question mark fill an important niche, allowing us to "report" on rumors without any proof that they are credible. After all, we're just asking a question. Will the next Square Enix Marvel game be Guardians of the Galaxy? We don't know. No one does, because they haven't announced anything other than "The Avengers Project," which is possibly called #Reassemble.

What we do know is that Eurogamer claims to have sources that say a Guardians of the Galaxy is in the work, buried inside a long article about how we're not likely to get another Deus Ex game in the near future due to Square Enix's shift in focus to Marvel games:

Back at Eidos Montreal, a small team is currently aiding Crystal Dynamics' Avengers project and, Eurogamer has heard, in the early stages of production on the second Marvel game based around Guardians of the Galaxy. This project will be lead by Eidos Montreal.

Will this rumor turn out to be true? It may be a long time until we find out, as more information isn't expected to come from Square Enix until 2018.
