Villainous Wrestling Couple Triple H and Stephanie McMahon Attend WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump's Inauguration

authority

Donald Trump's rule may have just begun today, but the 45th president of the United States may be able to rely on the experience of WWE power couple Stephanie McMahon and Triple H for inspiration over the next two years. The husband and wife team has ruled over the wrestling organization using fear and violence on and off since 1999, most recently being collectively known as "The Authority." The Authority has often abused their power to prevent popular wrestlers from winning championships, just as Donald Trump won the presidency despite losing the popular vote to Hillary Clinton. Like Trump, Triple H is plagued by an (alleged) video tape showing the corporate executive engaging in compromising behavior, though Triple H's takes place in a funeral parlor rather than a Russian hotel room (allegedly):

Trump's connection with WWE's first family goes back all the way to Wrestlemania IV and V, which were held at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City. Trump returned as an on-screen talent at Wrestlemania 23, with his champion, Bobby Lashley, defeating Stephanie's father Vince McMahon's champion Umaga, for the right to shave Vince's head. Trump was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013.

During Trump's campaign, the McMahons donated heavily to Trump, and Linda McMahon, Stephanie's mom, was rewarded with a cabinet position as the head of Trump's Small Business Association. Trump could be heard talking about McMahon during his first executive order signing session shortly after the inauguration.

And Stephanie and Triple H were in attendance for the inauguration today, with Stephanie posting the following photo to Instagram:

Will WWE's Authority and the Donald Trump administration combine forces to form the McMahon/Helmsley/Trump Era in America? We'll have to wait until Monday Night Raw next week to find out.
