American Horror Story Renewed For 8th And 9th Season

american-horror-story1It was only two months ago that FX picked up a seventh season of American Horror Story that will air later this year. Now the network has picked up two more season of the series created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. The series has pulled in 15 Emmy awards and nominations and the sixth season, AHS: Roanoke, was the top rated cable mini-series among adults 18-49, bringing in over 10 million viewers. Marketing for the seasons was very different than the previous ones as the plot and cast were kept secret until the first episode premiered.

FX CEO John Landgraf said:

American Horror Story launched the modern limited series revolution and – as evidenced by the most recent installment 'Roanoke' – it remains as vital today as when Murder House stunned audiences six years ago. Each new chapter is a cultural event, beloved for every new twist in imagery, style, cast and plot.
