Gillian Anderson And Studio Ghibli Brings Us Ronja, The Robber’s Daughter

Studio Ghibli has adapted Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter based on the novel by Astrid Lindgren for Amazon Prime. It tells the story of Ronja, the daughter of a professional robber, who realizes the complicated nature of her father’s profession when she befriends Birk, the child of a rival tribe. She struggles to balance this friendship with her family relationship but comes to understand, how differences can be overcome with the help of love and understanding. The new series is narrated by actress Gillian Anderson (The X-Files), directed by Gorō Miyazaki (Up on Poppy Hill).

The 26-part Ronja, The Robber’s Daughter premiers January 27th.
