New Riverdale Trailer Focuses On The Death Of Jason Blossom
The more I see of the new Riverdale series, the more it feels like Beverly Hills 90210 meets Twin Peaks. The first episode opens with a murder of one of the students of the local high school named Jason Blossom and the new trailer for the series looks a little more at that than the Archie / Betty / Veronica love triangle that the other trailer focused on.
This is the first time we've gotten the name of the victim. Jason is the twin brother of Cheryl Blossom, a character introduced back in 1982 as a third lover interest for Archie. She would then disappear 2 years later, believed to be because she was deemed to sexual of a character for a kids comic. But she would appear on and off after being reintroduced in 1994. Jason, her brother, is considered an arrogant rival to Archie and has a thing for Betty.
The new series kicks off January 26th, coming from Greg Berlanti and Robert Aguirre-Sacasa. It stars K.J. Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes and Luke Perry.
