LittleBigPlanet Developer's Dreams Is Still On The Way Despite Silence

Dreams was announced at E3 2015, but since then, it has been mostly silent despite a few lowkey appearances. In fact, the animation creation game was meant to have a beta this year, but that has now been delayed.

In a post on their website, Media Molecule acknowledged that the game had been quiet for some time and that the beta has now been pushed back to 2017. Citing that the game has become bigger than they ever thought, the developer explained the delay, saying:

It's getting close to the end of 2016 and it's time to let you all know that the beta trial for Dreams won't be starting this year.  We are sorry for being a bit quiet of late and for disappointing people not being at PSX, but sometimes you have to just shut the doors, take the phone off the hook and hunker down and that's exactly what we have been doing!

Now I know it may be difficult to hear, and delays make us sad too. However Dreams is Big. Really big. I mean, we always knew we were a bit crazy, but the enormity of it has taken even us by surprise. And rather than cutting corners we are staying true to our  vision – that Dreams isn't just about drawing, or sculpting, but also game creation, storytelling, animation, music and sound, all rolled into one whole beautiful PlayStation game.

I'm utterly fascinated byt the premise of this game, and it's a shame that its first time in most people's hands has been pushed out. Still, delays make games better, so I'm fine with this. It does make you wonder when we might end up seeing the game actually released though.
