After being played by Prometheus and the tragic results for Felicity's boy friend, Billy Malone… there was an interview during San Diego where Stephen Amell was asked how Oliver would react to Felicity's new boyfriend. He said: "We meet him in act one, he's dead in act four. He was shot with an arrow? Don't look at me." It was act five of episode nine, but the rest was accurate… Anyway, after he's told the team and then went and visited Susan Williams, he comes back to the Arrowcave and found:

Yes, that's the dead Laurel Lance standing there looking at the costumes and waiting for him it seems. We haven't see Katie Cassidy since… well, last week's alien false reality… or when she appeared as a villain from Earth-2 on the Flash… but before THAT, she told Oliver she always loved him, made him promise not to go on alone and then died.

So….

How is she there? There are the standard answers of: alien pod person, impostor, Ollie is dreaming, she's the evil one from Earth-2 and the Lance family got a two-for-one ticket for the Lazarus pit. All of those are interesting and legit ways to explain why she's there. But this is the season of Flashpoint so maybe this is Barry Allen's doing. But if that was the case, wouldn't everyone know she was alive like how everyone knows Diggle's kid is a boy. And if it wasn't Barry's fault, then what about Sara Lance who told Damien Darhk that his future plans fail and he goes on a different path, teaming up with Eobard Thawne. Did Sara save her sister by diverting Darhk's plans?

Or she could totally be a Westworld android… I mean crossover's are big right now.

It's actually kind of surprising how many ways she could be brought back.

But why bring her back? Amell addressed one of the best reasons last night live on Facebook after the show. He talks a lot of spoilers in this…

And if you don't want to watch the whole thing… he talks about how John Diggle wasn't a character in the comics at all and Felicity Smoak was just a minor character in Firestorm… neither big parts of the Green Arrow universe. But Black Canary is a huge part of the Green Arrow comics and not having her in the series would be wrong. The two just go together

We knew she wasn't going far when Cassidy signed a new contract for all four of the series similar to Wentworth Miller. And there was a synopsis on IMDB that has since been removed that said: "The team struggles to deal with Laurel Lance's return." That had been listed for episode eleven. So the signs were there.

As for what it means for the series. If it is indeed Laurel and not some evil doppelganger or hallucination then I think they'll likely be romantic implications between the two. She's already confessed to loving him before she died and Oliver's alien fantasy was to marry Laurel… not Felicity, not Sara, not Diggle… but Laurel. And though they've tried dating in the past, now they are both vigilante crime fighters, that could make things easier. No lying about where you go, no missing dinners, both wearing tight leather.

There is the one little problem in that everyone knows that Black Canary is Laurel Lance. There's a statue of her in the harbor. Unless Barry or Sara fixed that too.

One thing we know for sure, there are now a lot of people on Team Arrow. They might be able to qualify for a health care plan.
