Will Tom Holland Fly In New Spidey-Suit In Spider-Man Homecoming?

No, he won't.

But he may glide, according to reports on the Twittersphere from Brazilian convention CCXP. Brief teaser footage from the film's upcoming trailer was reportedly shown at the con, revealing Spider-Man will have webbed-underarms and be able to glide, thanks to new Spider-Suit upgrades from Tony Stark. The footage is the first ever seen by the public from the upcoming film.

It's unclear at the moment whether the upgrades are similar to the Iron Spider costume given to Peter Parker by Tony Stark in the comics during Civil War, or whether they consist of of "web wings" which are closer to the original Steve Ditko costume, pictured below, but based on Spidey's Ditko-esque appearance in Captain America: Civil War, we're guessing the latter is more likely. Or, at least, if the Iron Spidey suit is to debut in the film, it doesn't appear it is shown in this particular footage.

Spider-Man: Homecoming, directed by Jon Watts and starring Tom Holland, and produced jointly by Marvel and Sony, will hit theaters on July 7th, 2017. The trailer is rumored to be released either when or before Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on December 18th.
