Goldberg Will Enter The Royal Rumble, But Who Will He Face At Wrestlemania?

When Bill Goldberg defeated Brock Lensar at WWE Survivor Series in under two minutes, it was a sure thing that this wouldn't be the end of their feud. At last night's WWE Raw in Toronto, Goldberg announced that he would be entering the Royal Rumble, a thirty-man free-for-all in which the last man to avoid being tossed over the top rope wins, teasing another championship title run. However, according to reports from Dave Meltzer, the Rich Johnston of pro wrestling, on his Wrestling Observer Radio show, Goldberg's contract with WWE is "open ended," with Goldberg willing and able to wrestle as often as WWE would like, as long as WWE is willing to pay him the same "big money" fees he received for Survivor Series. Goldberg's deal is similar to the one Lesnar is believed to have.

In what should hardly even be news, since it's so obvious, Meltzer also reportedly said that WWE plans for Goldberg and Lesnar to have a rematch at Wrestlemania, which is sure to last longer than their Survivor Series bout. Lesnar is expected to remain off television for the rest of the year, but could return at the Royal Rumble in January to cost Goldberg a win, leading to their Wrestlemania match.

Goldberg's return has been well-received by wrestling fans, spurred on by the fact that Goldberg apparently developed actual promo skills during his twelve year absence. However, resentment could start to build if Goldberg starts beating some of the company's up and coming stars, and there's still no telling how well his already-limited in-ring skills have held up over the years, since his match at Survivor Series consisted of three moves and a pin. Then again, maybe Goldberg has inexplicably become the second coming of Bret Hart while he's been away (which would be ironic considering a misplaced kick from Goldberg ended Hart's own career, as remembered by the crowd via "you screwed Bret" chants at last night's show). At this point, nothing would be shocking – Old Man Goldberg has somehow managed to maintain almost the exact same physique he had in his prime:
