Comic Editor Ellie Pyle's New Play Taps Into Election Vitriol

elliepyleCurrent Vertigo and former Marvel editor Ellie Pyle has written a very timely new play called Sources. It takes place the night after the 2016 election, and it will have a public reading with Alisha Spielmann (Universal Robots) and Ryan McCurdy (Verona Walls) in the lead rolls. The reading will be directed by DeLisa White and take place at the Manhattan Theatre Club Studios on November 13th at 7 PM.

The story tells of a freelance journalist the night after a heavily contested election. The nation is uneasy and saying horrible, vile things to each other through the anonymity of the internet. The journalist gets a tip that a corporate programmer has created a way to remove the anonymity and tie people to all the ugly words they have said. She wants to know how he's done it and just what it will mean to live in a world of transparency.

Pyle has written for the stage before, including the new musical Beginnings that tells the tale of King Arthur's early reign set to the music of the band Chicago. She has also written two novels: The Men In Between and Southern Girls with Big Vocabularies.
