Mission Impossible as a franchise has had an unexpected burst of life in the last few years. It’s clear there is a lot left in the franchise yet, and there are already plans afoot for the next in the series.
Deadline are reporting that the the currently untitled Mission Impossible 6 has been penciled in for July 27, 2018 by Paramount. The film is expected to be directed by Rogue Nation, the last film in the series, director Christopher McQuarrie again, and of course, Tom Cruise will be back.
As long as these films keep being good, which the last three have been, then audiences will keep turning up. Hopefully this comes together.
