Who Are The Scariest Monsters In The DC Universe?

With Halloween only a day away, DC All-Access has put together their list of the top 10 monsters in the DC Universe. Normally I look at these lists and I may disagree with the order or think someone has been left off… but overall they're pretty good. This time, I think there are some really questionable choices.

I guess it really comes down to how you describe a monster. Looks is only part of what makes a monster, I think ability and purpose has to be factored in as well. Where I don't think Anton Arcane looks that monstrous, add in what he can do and his intent and he's definitely worth of this list… I just don't know about being #1. Doomsday is almost unstoppable, killed Superman and seems to just want to destroy everything in his path… that to me a scarier.

I have a hard time with Etrigan the Demon and Swamp Thing being on the list as they basically have good intent. I'm sure they're monsters to the people they are going after, but you don't have to fear them if you are a good person. That may be a bit Pollyanna of me to say, but like I said, intent factors in for me.

And then we have Killer Croc and The Joker. Pre-Hush, Croc was just a guy with a bad skin condition. And The Joker's insanity can be monstrous, but I have a hard time thinking of him as a monster on the Halloween scale.

And where I can't argue that Charaxes, The Trench creatures, Man-Bat and Parallax are monsters, I'm not convinced they deserve to be higher on the list than say Solomon Grundy, Trigon, Killer Shark or some others. I think this list may end up being different for each person based on what scares them.
