Valiant's Harbinger Renegades #1 Expands with Ryp, Allen… And New Villain?

First, word leaked that Sony had accelerated its production plans for the forthcoming Harbinger feature film…

Then we caught wind that the publisher had registered the web domains for HarbingerWarsII.com and HarbingerWars2.com, seemingly indicating major publishing or film news just over the horizon…

Now, Valiant is touting what we are promised is the first of several major announcements concerning November's upcoming Harbinger Renegades ongoing series from underground sensation Rafer Roberts and mega-talent Darick Robertson.

2017 certainly is shaping up to be the year of Harbinger…

Keeping on track with that speculation, Valiant today announced two substantial additions to the 40-page Harbinger Renegades #1 – on FOC this coming Monday, October 24th – in the form of artists Raul Allen and Juan Joe Ryp, who will each be contributing "integral" new portions of the first newly expanded first issue.

Raul Allen – best known Valiant's Wrath of the Eternal Warrior series – will be illustrating "an all-new introduction" to Harbinger Renegades #1, breaking down the series' "psiot" mythos for incoming readers.

Juan Jose Ryp – also currently on art duties for Valiant's Britannia – will then pencil a never-before-seen prologue sequence for the first issue introducing "the first appearance and origin" of "a major new Valiant antagonist and one of the most important characters for the Valiant Universe in 2017 and beyond."

Known simply as Alexander Solomon at the moment, it seems likely that we'll be hearing more about this new antagonist's plans for one of Valiant's premier franchises sooner rather than later…

But you'll only have to wait a few more weeks to find out for certain. Harbinger Renegades #1 by Rafer Roberts and Darick Robertson with Raul Allen and Juan Jose Ryp is in stores November 16th.
