The Launch of Virtual Reality Comics On Oculuus For Transformers, GI Joe And More

Matt Farnham writes from New York Comic Con,

In a panel led by Ben Wolstenholme the CEO of Madefire joined together with Fox, Oculus and comic creator Dave Gibbons (Kingsman and Watchmen) to discuss the future comics.

The big news was the launch of VR comics which are available right now on Oculus VR via the Madefire app.

These comics include new Planet of the Apes stories and:

Revolution — The brand-new comic book universe that merges Transformers, G.I. Joe, and more from IDW Publishing and Hasbro.

Somnia: Origins — The new original title from world-renowned visual effects studio, Framestore.

Injustice: Year One — The smash-hit comic from DC Comics.

MONO: The Old Curiosity Shop — The award-winning Madefire Original.

The hope is that through new media studios such as Fox will be able to interact more directly with the fans allowing stories to be built in cannon and with fan input.

If you are at NYCC you can try theses out at booth 866.
