Oculus Touch Dated For This Year And Will Cost $200

The Oculus Touch is a really cool controller. There is something very intuitive about the way it works, and once it releases, it will add something to the Rift that had it lagging behind the Vive.

We now have a date on the product too, as it was announced yesterday that the Oculus Touch would be launching on December 6th, 2016. Those who pre-ordered the Rift before it came out will have priority on the controllers, which are priced at $200.

There is also a new sensor making for better room scale wich will launch alongside the controllers for $80.

These, on top of the headset, actually seem to make the whole Oculus set up more expensive than the Vive, shifting the dynamic of the high end VR headsets. This should be interesting to see play out.

Edit: I forgot to crucially mention that to offset the cost of the Touch and the new sensor, Oculus have reduced the minimum specs of using the headset. This means that VR has opened up to a whole bunch of new PC users, or that users looking to buy a new PC wouldn't have to invest so much (there is a $499 Oculus capable machine being made by CyberPowerPC and AMD). It is said that anything with a Nvidia 960 or greater and an intel i3-6100 (or AMD FX4350 should now be able to run Oculus.
