John Higgins Creates Comic Strip For Royal Mail Stamps Depicting The Great Fire Of London

The 350th anniversary of the Great Fire of London is being commemorated with a set of six new stamps, from the British Royal Mail.

And they are being written and drawn by veteran comic creator John Higgins, best known as the colourist of Watchmen.

Using a streetmap design, the roads acting as gutters to create separate panels, they show how the fire that raged over four days in 1666 and saw 13,000 houses and 87 churches consumed, spread across the city.
