Blizzard Releases Some Pre-Expansion Stats

There is constantly talk that World of Warcraft is dying… that they're not at the peak 12 Million subscribers they once had. If you take a trip in November to Anaheim, CA for Blizzcon, you wouldn't need any more evidence to prove that wrong. But since this years convention is already sold out… here is a nice infographic created by Blizzard to show some of the stats based on the pre-expansion update that happened recently in preparation for World of Warcraft: Legion.

The patch introduced two new things… the Demon Hunter playable class and invasions. This was story wise the Burning Legion invading areas of Azeroth and player had to go defend it en masse. It was also a great way to level long forgotten characters, allowing players to max out as many characters as they could before the level cap increased to 110.

This included 3.9 Million Demon Hunters created and 2.5 Million invasions repelled… and that's just the people who pre-ordered the expansion.
