Uncollected Edition… The Chimera Brigade In Stores In October

It's like deja vu all over again.

Titan announced today the upcoming release of a new comic series called The Chimera Brigade by writers Serge Lehmen (Metropolis) and Farbice Colin (Chicagoland) with art by Gess (Heavy Metal). The first issue will have covers by John McCrea (Spider-Man), Nick Percival (Judge Dredd) and Max Bertolini (Heavy Metal).

So why the deja vu comment? Because we've been here before, just over two years ago.

In the previous article, our former EiC Hannah Means-Shannon described the 48-page graphic novel as a cross between Sledgehammer 44 from Dark Horse and Anna Mercury from Avatar Press. A pretty accurate analogy I think. The series is now being released as individual issues with a few new covers have been added since it was originally announced.

How does the graphic novel announced in July of 2014 differ from the new #1 set to be in shops on October 12th? I asked Titan about that and this was their reply:

Though the first couple of issues were collected before, there will be new design elements, as well as brand new, gorgeous covers by top-tier industry talent like John McCrea and Nick Percival. From there – we will be charting into new territory with brand new story arcs. The series is being repurposed for the singles format for the first time.
