Convention Exhibitors Beware Of Hotel Scammers

logo_lbcc_largeOne of my favorite shows of the years it he Long Beach Comic Con put on by Mad Event Management. It was a show put together by former Wizard World employees and has now grown to include the New Jersey Comic Con. Well, it seems that someone is trying to scam the exhibitors by way of hotel registration. The official LBCC hotel is the Hyatt Regency Long Beach, but someone is contacting the exhibitors and offering them a link to book their reservations that has nothing to do with the convention, the Hyatt or anything else. It just takes your payment information.

So exhibitors for this convention and any other upcoming convention, take a moment and double check when it comes time to book your hotel.

The LBCC is September 17th & 18th and I'll be there in artist alley once again.

Here is the letter they sent out to exhibitors.

Dear Exhibitors,

It has been brought to our attention that a company is contacting our exhibitors to book hotel rooms for the upcoming Long Beach Comic Con. Please do not book your reservation through them, or give them your payment information. This is a scam.  The Hyatt Regency Long Beach is the official LBCC hotel.

There are two convenient ways to book your reservations: call 1-800- 233-1234 and refer to the group name: Long Beach Comic Con or book online by visiting The Hyatt Regency Long Beach's website.

If you have any questions please feel free to let us know.

Sincerely,

Long Beach Comic Con Management
