The Civil War II Hawkeye/Hulk Verdict Is In – As Is How Ulysses' Powers Work. Where Will It End? (SPOILERS)

Image (46)

Today's Civil War II: Choosing Sides has the moments before the verdict in the Civil War II case, the trial of Clint Barton, Hawkeye, for the murder of Bruce Banner, Hulk.

But Marvel spoiled this themselves, possibly accidentally, with the preview of Totally Awesome Hulk #9 last week, out today.

#Walkeye indeed. And, in Civil War II #4, everyone's on Hawkeye's side.

Image (29)87% is pretty good. In fact, Hawkeye's getting a bit of a boost from it.

The most popular superhero in the world? And people didn't even read his Fraction/Aja/Wu run – though J Jonah Jameson in Civil War II: Choosing Sides seems to have an inkling.

The parallels, of course are drawn between policemen who shoot to kill seemingly without the provocation that might necessitate such action, but are found innocent. It falls down here as the public reaction is far more divided. It appears here that #GreenLivesDon'tMatter.

Of course, not everyone's happy, such as the new Hulk and healer of Bruce Banner, Amadeus Cho.

And J Jonah Jameson in Civil War II: Choosing Sides knows how this is all going to pan out.

Image (47)He can tell the future too! Talking of which, Civil War II finally tells us how Ulysses powers work, and Tony Stark was bang on the money.

So it is profiling after all. Also this is exactly what Tony Stark did in Force Works, building the Chaos Computer to profile the future, which was powered by Scarlet Witch, introducing her own biases into the mix.

But that was not a problem for Iron Hypocrite.
cw2aI don't know, Tony. Why not ask yourself a few pages later?

Image (61)Of course, it's not just Captain Marvel and Ulysses who have been doing the profiling. Ober in The Mighty Thor

#TrollLivesMatter? That does seem to be the analogy being used here. And to be fair The Mighty Thor has more in thematic common with Civil War II than the crossover issue of New Avengers today –

– which has nothing to do with Civil War II at all.

Image (60)Though that bit is nice. Ms Marvel is having her own problems and – hey, you remember when Brian Bendis said Civil War II wasn't like Minority Report?

Image (44)

Maybe they shouldn't use the exact same language. And hey, Ulysses only wants to help the Starks, from Ulysses #3.

But back to Tony Stark and his Ulysses conclusions

cw2 Who is he going to put his trust in?Image (59)Oh, great timing, Tony….

And as for J Jonah Jameson?

He was bang on the money.
