Two and a half years ago, Wired Magazine reported that EC and Mad Magazine artist Jack Davis was retiring, aged 90.

But Jack wasn’t having any of that, letting us know that he wasn’t even ninety yet, and was most definitely not retiring and remained available for work.

Sadly, as of today, that is no longer the case.

His local WGAURadio in Athens, Georgia, reports that he passed away today, aged ninety-one commemorating his locally well known Georgia Bulldog cartoons and celebrating his contribution to local culture.

But for Bleeding Cool readers, he will best be known for his EC horror work such as Tales From The Crypt, and cartoons for Mad Magazine.

And IDW recently published an Artist’s Edition of his work.
