For A Few More Days, Faith #1 Is The Biggest Non-Big Two Superhero Launch Of 2016

In a few more days, we will learn the sales for Jupiter's Legacy Vol 2 #1.

Until then, the second volume of Faith, its first as an ongoing series for Valiant can claim to be the biggest non-Big Two superhero launch of 2016.

It's been a big week for Valiant Entertainment… First they swept the Harvey Award nominations with 50 nods — the most ever for any publisher. And now they've released word that Faith #1, the new ongoing series kicking off their "Future of Valiant" line-up on July 20th, has racked up 30,000 in orders "and counting" – making it 2016's biggest debut for any independent superhero series.

Until they announce Jupiter's Legacy Vol 2 #1 numbers.

The only series that exceeds it would be Boom's licensed Mighty Morphin Power Rangers title… And no new launch – superhero or otherwise – from Image, IDW, Dark Horse, Dynamite, or Boom manages to come close.

To mark the occasion, Valiant will expanding Faith #1 page count to 48 to accommodate a "Future of Valiant" Sneak Preview insert that will feature first looks ahead at the rest of their upcoming releases, including Generation Zero #1 by Fred Van Lente & Francis Portela, Britannia #1 by Peter Milligan & Juan Jose Ryp, Bloodshot U.S.A #1 by Jeff Lemire & Doug Braithwaite, Harbinger Renegades #1 by Rafer Roberts & Darick Robertson, Savage #1 by B. Clay Moore, Clayton Henry & Lewis LaRosa, and Divinity III: Stalinverse #1 by Matt Kindt & Trevor Hairsine.
