Now Superman Fights A Giant Squid – Watchmen Coincidences?

From DC Universe Rebirth, The Pre 52 Superman is told by Mr Oz – someone we believe may be Ozymandias from the Watchmen comic book…

DC Universe - Rebirth (2016) 001-036 In Superman #1, as Pre-52 Superman visits the grave of the New 52 Clark Kent, and leaves a blue glowing handprint.Superman (2016-) 001-004I wonder… was the New 52 Superman actually a remade Dr Manhattan? Observed by Oxymandias?

I only ask because in today's Superman #2, the Pre-52 Superman fights… a giant squid that suddenly appears as if by magic…

Well, Superman thinks it's a coincidence. But over in Justice League Rebirth #1, Batman is also discussing this new old Superman and sees things differently.
