Gotham Academy Wraps Up Yearbook Storyline With Issue #18

I'm a fan of Gotham Academy, yes, but I have thoroughly enjoyed the "Yearbook" storyline. Having different mini-stories throughout the issues truly has enhanced the overall ARC. Gotham Academy #18 written by Brenden Fletcher, Faith Erin Hicks, Natasha Alterici, with art by Annie Wu, Moritat, Hicks, Adam Archer, and Alterici, takes us through some incidents in the past that directly affected the storylines that we have loved since issue #1. From a darker, more in depth look at a man behind the health of Tristan Grey's character, to a simple driving lesson for Maps, this issue is well-rounded and fun.

Maps and Olive are after Robin, who has taken Maps precious scrapbook. I can't say enough things about how much I adore Robin and Maps interaction. I'll keep it spoiler free here, but you're going to want to experience the fun for yourself. The end of this issue is particularly adorable. What follows is an important note that put a big smile on my face…

The sad news is…we have to wait until August for another issue, but I like the idea that they are referring to it as a special "mystery one-shot." One-shots usually have the potential to be amazing, and I think if the normal creative team writes it, it will be great. Brenden Fletcher and Becky Cloonan are excellent writers.
