You may have heard about Raiders!: The Story of the Greatest Fan Film Ever Made before. It's a documentary about childhood friends Chris Strompolos and Eric Zala, who set out to recreate Raiders of the Lost Ark shortly after the film's 1980 release using whatever means — and parent's houses — they could get their hands on. Working on the project for seven years, the nearly finished fan film became the stuff of legend. But it lacked one sequence: Indy and Marion's attempt to steal a German Flying Wing.
The documentary follows the group as they reunite thirty years later to complete the sequence. But as the film's new trailer shows, not all goes as planned:
Drafthouse Films is taking the movie on the road over the summer. The Raiders: Follow Your Dreams Tour will kick off in early June with a series of advance screenings leading up to official June 17th release date and continue through the season. Strompolos and Zala will appear at the screenings to answer questions and show their full-length recreation of Raiders — now known as The Adaptation — along side the documentary.
