217 Members Of Twin Peaks’ New Cast Revealed

Twin PeaksEvery time we’ve updated the cast of Showtime‘s revival of Twin Peaks, it has come with the caveat that the cable outlet would only confirmed star Kyle MacLachlan as the lone actor scheduled to appear in the series. But that has changed today as TVLine reports that Showtime and creators David Lynch and Mark Frost have revealed 217 people appearing in the show.

The list includes returning notables like Sheryl Lee and Sherylin Finn and people like Carl Struycken — the Giant in a number of Special Agent Dale Cooper’s dream sequences — and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me‘s Harry Dean Stanton, presumably returning as trailer park manager Carl Rodd.

The list also confirms previously reported newcomers like Amanda Seyfried, Balthazar Getty, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Laura Dern. Robert Forster is on the list, but as the document does not offer character names, it is unclear if he is replacing the retired Michael Ontkean as Sheriff Harry S. Truman or as new character.

Also of interest in the listing of Walter Olkewicz. The actor, who played Jacques Renault in the first season of the series and in Fire Walk With Me, has had severe knee issues preventing him from working. It is nice to see his name in the list, but like Sheryl Lee, it leaves a question mark as to who they are playing as both characters are quite dead.

Sadly, it seems Jacques’s old pal Leo Johnson did not survive his bee encounter as actor Eric DaRe is not on the list.

Other newcomers include Michael Cera, Madeline Zima and Eddie Vedder. But perhaps most importantly, the list confirms Miguel Ferrer will be returning — presumably as FBI Agent Albert Rosenfield. Clearly, the best news of the day.
