Victoria Wood Dies, Aged 62. Dammit.

I'm looking for Victoria Wood. 'Ave you seen her? She's reet small…

2016, I have officially had it with you.

It has been announced that singer/songwriter/comedian Victoria Wood has died, aged 62, from cancer.

Creator of sketch show such as Victoria Wood As Seen On TV in the eighties, sitcoms such as Dinnerladies and taking on the West End with Acorn Antiques, she is also responsible for one for the finest television comedies, Victoria Wood: With All The Trimmings, a Christmas TV special that devastatingly took apart media culture at the time, as much as any episode of Brass Eye but with a far larger audience.

That's what she did, she created comedies that were seen as soft, safe, comfort food even, and within hid the most hard hitting satirical jibes of all. And quotes for the ages.

Here are a few favourites. And now we're not going to get to see what she does next.
