Are You Being Repped For A Comic Con Without Your Knowledge?
The Walking Dead's Tony Moore, currently running his own comic convention, sent out a shout out to the comics industry about a fellow called Scott Roush who he said was
"claiming to represent almost every name I've ever seen on every convention guest list in all of history, rife with horrible misspellings and including some names I know to be with other reps. He boasts a client list of over 300 names just in comics, not to mention his massive list of actors and wrestlers. His emails are a total mess. While our convention is young, fortunately my wife and I are far from greenhorns, and we were able to easily reach out to several of our friends about their purported representation. Their reactions ranged from "No, never heard of him" to "No, I heard about this guy a little while ago and told him to never mention my name again.""
So I enquired to Scott Roush that, if Bleeding Cool say, were to start comic conventions in the USA (it could happen) who he represented.? That, specifically, was the word I used. "Represent".
He replied telling me
So-I can get a lot of people-I used to send out a master list-It was too long and People were getting missed-So now I am in the process of sending lists by catagories-I will send you some and more later.
And he sent us the lists, reproduced at the end of this article.
So I started asking some of the comic book people he named. Most claimed never to have heard of him, a few said that they had been approached by him but weren't being represented, and certainly couldn't be "got" by him – and one said that yes, Scott had represented him at shows, and had done a very good job indeed.
Which sounds like it's not a complete con job, more a massive overexaggeration.
Tony Lee, one of the people named, told me
"I have never heard of Roush, nor have I ever been contacted by him in connection with representing me at any event, convention or signing. If a convention wants to bring be to their event, my details are always available from my website, and I have never needed someone to do this. If a convention believes that they've booked me, then please can they contact me by email, found on my website for confirmation."
When pressed about this, as well as pointing out the people on the list who didn't believe they were represented by him, Scott told me
"Some may not rememember but I have talked to them and have thier contact info-So as for an honest way to behave-I told them I can possibly find them shows-like I told them in the beginning.So you talked to some that were pleased so then you know that I have worked with some and hopefully more, I never know who is going to be requested-for example George Perez and Gary Friedrich-I will be working with for the first time in the future.I do my best and the conventions decide who they want-and I have contact info for them-I dont rep anybody exclusivly.But-I am happy to help find them conventions and help the conventions get the people they need. You mentioned starting some conventions-I can help you-I can get you guests in all catagories-Wrestlers,comic people,Horror,Sci-Fi etc.So, the one that was pleased should tell you I'm a good person and not sure about the ones you said I corresponded with-if I got them shows or if they were unavailable-I dont rep anybody exclusivly or claim to be thier rep, but if you need them for your show, I have thier info and can try to make it happen."
As for Tony Lee, Scott says he met him
"at Comicpalooza in Houston – like I said Alot of them I havnt had the chance to work with yet-some I have and they might not remember meeting me and giving me thier contact info-I'm not a jerk-I try to get them conventions and sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesnt-I just got Gary Friedrich a convention-I've had his info for years and never used it.its not up to me its up to the conventions-I f you want help Im more than happy to help-Im not trying to anger anyone-you said the one you spoke with that worked with me was happy thats my goal with everyone."
And Tony admitted
"I might have met him at Comicpalooza – you get guys who walk up and go 'hey, we're looking at doing something this year, I'd like to suggest you' but then nothing happens. If he says 'I've spoken to and can reach out to these guys' then that's fine. But to say 'I can bring these guys' isn't so cool."
People seem to have got the impression from Scott that the latter is the case. But, as I said, many I talked to claim never to have spoken to Scott – or certainly have no memory of speaking to him whatsoever.
Scott tells me, when I pointed out the implication of his wording,
I am happy for you to give me a suggestion on how you think I should say this. So, I thought you had a show and needed people, So I have contact info for all listed and I am more than happy to help your show have any of them attend. I do not rep any of them exclusivly, nor would I want to, as I believe repping people exclusivly robs them of opportunities as someebody else might have a connection I do not.So, When I talked to all of them I never told them I was going to rep them exclusively and I dont. I never got all caught up in terminology-manager, agent, booking agent, I prefer Booker as I know what agents and managers do and thats not me. So if you asked me if I rep these people-it was probally a simple answer of yes to get the ball rolling to get them booked on your show not to cause a big controversy. I work with conventions all over, and they decide who they want-I can make suggestions based on location of thier show, thier budget, who they have at thier show etc. I dont think anybody I have ever worked with-thinks hey I can only work with scott and nobody else.So, I hope this clears this up for you and if you need anybody or want suggestions for locations for your conventions I am more than happy to help-thats what you should get out of this encounter-I help you, I help the conventions, I help the celebrities-there should be no element of malice here.I am away at conventions probally 40 out of 52 weeks-sometimes multiple conventions in same weekend.

Charles Soule attended the University of Pennsylvania, received his undergraduate degree in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, with a concentration in Chinese language and history. He later graduated from Columbia Law School.Soule currently practices law in New York City, focusing primarily on immigration and corporate law.In 2009 SLG Publishing published Soule's graphic novel Strongman . George Perez-American writer and illustrator of comic books, whose titles include The Avengers, Teen Titans, and Wonder Woman. Writer David Michelinie and Pérez created the Taskmaster in The Avengers #195.Offered the art chores for the launch of The New Teen Titans, written by Wolfman.Pérez' became regular artist on Justice League of America.DC's 1985 50th-anniversary event, Crisis on Infinite Earths.
After Crisis, Pérez inked the final issue of Superman (issue #423) in September 1986, over Curt Swan's pencils for Part 1 of the 2-part story Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? by writer Alan Moore. The following month, Pérez was one of the artists on Batman #400 Wolfman and Pérez teamed again to produce the History of the DC Universe limited series to summarize the company's new history. Pérez drew the cover for the DC Heroes roleplaying game. Pérez also illustrated the cover for the fourth edition of the Champions roleplaying game from Hero Games.

This included inconsistent reasons given for rewrites of his material, the inability of editors to explain to him basic aspects of the New 52 Superman's status quo (such as whether his adoptive parents were still alive), and restrictions imposed by having to be consistent with Action Comics, which is set five years earlier than Superman, a situation complicated by the fact that Action writer Grant Morrison was not forthcoming about his plans.

The creature that the Dragon Lord battled was intended to be Godzilla but since Marvel no longer had the rights to the character (which lapsed the previous year) the creature was modified to a dragon called The Wani.The New Teen Titans]In 1980, Wolfman returned to DC after a dispute with Marvel. Beast Machines was met with mixed reviews, as the show was praised for its deep story, but was criticized for its lack of action in comparison to other Transformers shows.
