Cartoon Network has confirmed the existence of Justice League Action. A new take on the Justice League that, like the current Teen Titans Go!, will feature two 11-minute shorts as opposed to the 24-minute stories of previous Justice League programs.
The new series will see Kevin Conroy bringing his iconic voice back to Batman, with Mark Hamill also reprising his legendary role as the Joker. Other cast members include James Woods — who played Owlman in Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths — as Lex Luthor and Batman: The Brave and the Bold‘s Deidrich Bader taking over the role of Booster Gold.
The network made available poster art featuring the DC Trinity, but it is currently unclear who will voice Superman and Wonder Woman. Though certainly the return of Conroy and Hamill might suggest Tim Daly (or George Newbern) and Susan Eisenberg coming back as well.
Of course, anytime Conroy and Hamill come back to the roles they inhabited off-and-on since the 1992 debut of Batman: The Animated Series is welcome news. Long time DC Animated executive producer Sam Register will serve the same function on Action, with other familiar names like Alan Burnett, Butch Lukic, and Jim Krieg producing.
The series does not currently have an airdate.
