Superman's Writer Gene Luen Yang Named National Ambassador For Young Person's Literature

geneGene Luen Yang is the Eisner Award creator of American Born Chinese. He is also the current writer of Superman, with more DC Comics projects to come.

He has now been named the new national ambassador for young people's literature.

He will be inaugurated in this role in Washington on Thursday by The Center for the Book in the Library of Congress, the Children's Book Council and Every Child A Reader.

The position is held for two years and this is the first time the position has been granted to a comic book creator.
