Variety reports the documentary Je suis Charlie will come to Netflix on the one year anniversary of the attack on the office of satire magazine Charlie Hebdo, which saw twelve people killed.
Je suis Charlie is directed by Daniel and Emmanuel Leconte. Daniel Leconte is familiar with the magazine, having directed 2008’s It’s Hard To Be Loved by Jerks, a docu-drama about the legal battle over the magazine’s depiction of the prophet Muhammad.
Featuring archival material from the slain cartoonists, new interviews from the survivors and footage of demonstrations following the attack, the film follows the staff of Charlie Hebdo as it prepared its special post-attack issue.
Je suis Charlie opens worldwide on January 7th.
