After a one-season absence, Bran Stark, as played by Isaac Hempstead-Wright, returns to Games of Thrones. But it seems he spent that missing time learning from the Three-Eyed Raven as the actor tells Entertainment Weekly the character will have greater control of his abilities. “We’re given looks into very important events in the past, present and future of this world,” he explained. “Bran is beginning to piece them together like a detective, almost as if he’s watching the show.”
In the novel series, Bran’s abilities are only beginning to mature, but he managed to see various parts of the Starks’ history and, in a later scene, it’s implied that he imparts a message to Reek via the werewood trees at Winterfell.
Hempstead-Wright’s comments also suggest Bran might witness the rumored flashback to the last days of Robert’s rebellion and its long talked about revelation about a certain character’s parentage.
Game of Thrones returns in April.
