Nicole Kidman has walked away from negotiations to appear in Wonder Woman. According to Variety’s Justin Kroll (via Comic Book Movie), scheduling conflicts prevented her from joining Patty Jenkins‘ film about the Amazon warrior’s arrival in the world of men. At the time word first broke out that she might join the film, many concluded she would play Queen Hippolyta.
But Kroll also reported that Robin Wright, already under contract for the film, may step into whatever part Kidman was considering. He also noted that, at least as of yesterday, Wright’s original role was not Hippolyta. Now, the production must decide if they want to look for another person to take Kidman’s place or utilize someone already on the team. Could Wright end up as Queen of Themyscira?
Wonder Woman arrives in theaters on June 23rd, 2017.
