In Two Pages, Darth Vader Shows Just How Powerful A Lightsaber Throw Can Be… (SPOILERS)

Kieron Gillen, as well as the writer of the Darth Vader comic book series from Marvel, has a strong reputation as a games journalist and was one of the founders of Rock, Paper, Shotgun.

Indeed, it was a Star Wars game that once renewed his love for the franchise after previously showing disdain.

It has been noted that once common aspect in Star Wars games that the films hardly touch on are the more practical uses for light sabres. Especially throwing them and retrieving them with the force. In  Revenge of the Sith Yoda throws his lightsaber to kill a clone trooper. And in Return of the Jedi, Darth Vader throws it to cut the walkway supports that Luke Skywalker stands on.

That's it.

But in the games you get moments like this.

And this.

And this.

And people trying to do it as well, like this.

And this.

And this.

Well in today's Darth Vader, drawn by Salvador Larroca, we get this.

And, as a result….

Badass Darth Vader, channelling his inner game player… and doing a far better job as a result.
