With only eight days until Super Week and twelve days before New York Comic Con (NYCC) both descend upon NYC, ReedPOP once again offered-up the second-half of their annual Heroes & Villains fan meet-up series this past Saturday afternoon at The McKittrick Hotel.

NYCC H&V LogoAimed at those with a preference more toward "world-dominating" as opposed to "world-saving," Villains was a much smaller, more intimate event compared to last year's edition but was still a very welcome opportunity for those who did attend to socialize with other geeks; embrace their "dark side" by competing in the Villains Costume Contest; show-off their artistic side with their own villains and henchmen during the drawing competition; and win a wide variety of prizes (a vast improvement from last year), ranging from Amy Reeder prints and Bitch Planet foam fingers to NYCC tickets. Giveaway "swag" for all those in attendance included events stickers, lanyards, commemorative events cards and (our personal favorite) quality prints of Marvel's exclusive NYCC 2015 poster.

VILLAINS-DrawingMarvelNYCCposterKudos to the crew from NYCC and ReedPOP for putting together a really fun, very cool event with high-energy and enthusiasm…especially considering the "crunch time" they're now in as they finalize everything for early October; to the fans who competed in both the cosplay and drawing contests for their hard work and creativity; and particularly to Reeder (creator of both the Heroes and Villains logos), Russ Braun and V. Ken Marion for serving as the event's special guests and serving as the judges for both the competitions.

Here's a look at the Villains Costume Contest, with some truly inspired cosplay work:

The judges didn't have some easy decisions to make, but in the end…

And congratulations to cosplayer Geisha Vi for her winning Poison Ivy costume…well-deserved!
