Top 100s of All Time Ever are near impossible to get a consensus on though. That is why they are always controversial.

Edge have attempted to do just that, and as you might expect, they’ve been mobbed by the internet for their suggestions. I have to say, some of the placement and inclusions are baffling to me, but hey, it has got people talking about games, and that is good.

For some context, Edge said this on how they came to their decisions. (via GamesRadar+):

In compiling the list, we worked to simple criteria: all formats – console, PC, portable, coin-op, touchscreen – were eligible; we could include only a single entry from any series that features straight-up sequels; and each game had to stand up today rather than making the cut for reasons of nostalgia or historic significance. The result is a collection of modern classics that must not be missed.
